One of the people accused of selling heroin in Eldred earlier this month has waived his preliminary hearing; the hearing for the other has been moved to next month.
24-year-old Nicholas McConkey of Smethport, who told police at the time of his arrest that his name was Nicholas Barnes, is accused of providing heroin to 24-year-old Stephanie Cossairt, who then allegedly sold it to a confidential informant for $670 on April 8.
Court papers say McConkey had a small amount of heroin, syringes and a marijuana pipe with when he was arrested. More drug paraphernalia, scales and prescription drugs were found in the car where McConkey waited while Cossairt allegedly did the transaction.
She had been scheduled to be in Central Court today as well, but her preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for May 16.
They’re both in McKean County Jail on $75,000 bail each.
