The Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce and Signature Sponsor Glenwood Beer Distributors will be hosting the 6th Annual Bradford Brewfest on Saturday, March 24th, with an exciting variety of both beverages and food on the menu. This local event, returning by popular demand, is scheduled for 6-9pm at the gymnasium at St. Bernard School, 450 West Washington Street. Bradford Brewfest, open to the public, is designed to offer attendees the chance to sample a wide variety of beverages, while also enjoying live music, great food, and more.
Glenwood Beer Distributors will be offering samples of forty-five different flavors from more than a dozen breweries. A few of the featured breweries this year include local favorite Four Mile Brewing from Olean, New York; Evil Genius Beer Company from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Ballast Point Brewing Company from San Diego, California; and The Traveler Beer Company from Burlington, Vermont. Mary Ann Colestro from Glenwood said, “This event has become one of our favorites to be a part of. It is a great opportunity for consumers to try all the flavors that are out there that they may not see on a daily basis.”
Attendees will receive a program with brews listed by category, so that they can choose to explore a range of flavors among their favorite brew types or venture into new styles with which they are less familiar. “The variety of beverages that Glenwood Beer Distributors brings to us for this event every year is incredible – from dark, hearty beers to lighter, fruity beverages and everything in between,” said Kara Kennedy, Executive Director of the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce. “Bradford Brewfest is a great way to explore new tastes and spend a fun evening with friends.”
“We hope that everyone enjoys the flavors we have chosen this year, some of which have just been released so it will be the first time many have ever had the opportunity to try them,” shared Colestro. “This year there is definitely something for everyone, from spiked and sparkling to double IPAs.” In addition to the samples included with their admission, attendees can also purchase draft beer at the bar, or even full-size bottles of their favorite brews to take home.
Just a few of the offerings available will be three different brews from Evil Genius Beer Company, known for their creative names and flavors: New Phone! Who Dis? – a caramel macchiato porter; Hans Shot First – a double IPA, and Pics or It Didn’t Happen – an American IPA. From Ballast Point Brewing Company, attendees can sample Pineapple Sculpin, Sea Rose (a tart cherry wheat ale), and Grapefruit Sculpin. And from the Traveler Beer Company, this year’s fun new brew is Lucky Traveler, a delicious blackberry shandy.
This year is also the year of rose’ – beer companies are creating their own twist on the ever popular rose’ offerings with ciders like Angry Orchard Rose’ and Crispin Rose’ – both of which will be in the 2018 Bradford Brewfest line-up. The spiked and sparkling category will make an encore appearance with Truly Spiked and Sparkling in four great flavors: pomegranate, wild berry, lime and grapefruit.
A new brew this year from Sam Adams is their latest innovation, SAM ’76! It’s their new, more sessionable craft lager. Bradford Brewfest attendees can also sample the Anytime IPA, which is a much more sessionable IPA and is perfect for anytime you want a refreshing beer.
Miller Coors latest releases will be included on the menu as well, including Two Hats Pineapple and Two Hats Lime, both from their line of clean-finishing light beers brewed with a hint of natural fruit flavor. And, Arnold Palmer fans will be glad to see the Arnold Palmer Spiked Half and Half (half lemonade and half tea) available to sample.
“This is just a glimpse of the flavor list,” said Kennedy, “there really should be something for everyone to enjoy at this event!” And for those who wonder where they can get these brews after Bradford Brewfest is over, Colestro said, “All the flavors offered can be purchased at your local beer distributors, taverns, and six-pack shops. If they don’t have something in stock just let them know what you are looking for and they can order it in.”
In addition to brew samples and live music by Ronan and Geci, attendees can also enjoy a varied menu of items available for purchase from several Chamber members who are participating as this year’s food vendors. Featured vendors include: Pizza Napoli, Togi’s Family Restaurant, Togi’s Substation, and Metz Culinary Management. All food items will be available at great, low prices.
