Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is out indefinitely after breaking several ribs late in the first half the 43-19 preseason win Saturday against the Steelers. Goodwin had made a 19 yard catch and cut into the middle of the field and was tackled by linebacker Ryan Shazier and slowly taken to the Bills locker room. The Bills played the Steelers without their three starting receivers: Sammy Watkins (hamstring), Percy Harvin (hip) and Robert Woods (tightness). All three are expected to be ready for the start of the season. Another receiver, Chris Hogan, is sidelined for two to four weeks with a sprained ankle.
Bills starting cornerback Stephon Gilmore did not return after hurting his right shoulder while tackling receiver Markus Wheaton. Bills rookie linebacker Tony Steward, a sixth-round pick, will miss a few weeks of action with a knee injury.
