Authorities in two states are investigating after the body of female was recovered from the waters of Lake Erie near Dunkirk, New York, on Tuesday.
Boaters called 911 around 11:45 a.m. after spotting the body floating in the water. The Chautauqua County Sheriff Water Rescue team retrieved the body and turned it over to Chautauqua County Coroner Larry Wilcox, according to Pennsylvania State Police, who also responded to the scene.
State police say they are helping Chautauqua County officials identify the person.
