The Bradford man accused of burglarizing a home while wearing a GPS device he was required to wear as a condition of his parole after a previous burglary conviction, has waived his preliminary hearing.
20-year-old Derek Steck was charged for stealing an Apple iPad Air and two cartons of cigarettes from an East Main Street home in the early morning hours of August 6. The GPS showed that Steck was at 580 East Main Street where the items were taken between 1:28 and 2 a.m.
He remains in McKean County Jail on $65,000 bail.
In June of last year Steck was sentenced for burglarizing The Learning Center, The Farm Family Restaurant, St. Bernard’s Church and the First Presbyterian Church.
