HARRISBURG – Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) issued the following statement in response to recent concerns about conditions at the McKean County SPCA:
Last week, I was notified by the Department of Agriculture of several problems at the McKean County SPCA that caused the facility to fail recent inspections. These are serious concerns that could lead to the revocation of the shelter’s kennel license and closure of the facility.
“However, despite these problems, I am pleased that the department has indicated a willingness and desire to work with shelter officials in an attempt to correct these violations.
“The services provided by the McKean County SPCA are very important to our community. I encourage the community to support the organization and come together to keep the shelter open so that it may continue to help reunite lost pets and their owners, and to place stray animals in new homes.”
