The Chicago Cubs outlasted the Pirates Monday night in 13 innings 8-7 on WESB. Chicago’s Miguel Montero won it with an RBI single in the 13th. The Pirates chased Cubs ace Jake Arrieta after Gregory Polanco and Josh Bell hit opposite field home runs to give the Bucs a 6-3 lead earlier. But, closer tony Watson allowed a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth sending the game into extra innings. Josh Harrison had a sacrifice fly in the top half of the 13th inning. With the loss the Bucs fall 1 1/2 games back of St. Louis for the second NL wild card.
