The Arizona Diamondbacks spanked the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night 12-4 in the opene4r of their four game series on WESB Sports. Pirates pitcher Nick Burdi left the game after a pitch in the eighth inning after dropping to the ground and clutching his right arm. Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk says its too early for a diagnosis. The Diamondbacks put together a monster rally by exploding in the seventh and eighth after falling behind 4-1. Pirates right fielder Gregory Polanco doubled and singled in his first game back after undergoing left shoulder surgery last September.
