The First Wesleyan Church of Bradford is bringing back its family Drive-In movie nights starting this Saturday night at 8 pm at 692 S. Kendall Ave.
“Our Drive-In movie nights have been a big hit, especially since we purchased a 16 foot by 9 foot movie screen and updated our video equipment last year in order to give our guests a true Drive-In movie experience,” according to FWCs Communications Director Jeff Nuhfer. “This is the 1st in a series of events that the church has undertaken for this summer as part of their continuing community outreach.”
Saturday’s feature presentation will be last year’s theatrical hit “Risen” starring Joseph Fiennes. The film follows a powerful Roman tribune and his aide who have been charged with the task of disproving the rumors of a risen Messiah, in order to prevent an uprising in Jerusalem following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Since its release in February of 2016, the film has made nearly 60 million dollars from worldwide box office returns and DVD sales. This film is rated PG-13 for violence and some disturbing images. “Risen is the first in a series of films that the members of the Drive-In movie team of the First Wesleyan Church have purchased the digital rights to. The church members plan to purchase the rights to other films and begin showing one each month until October.
This film presentation is free and open to the public. Popcorn, tasty treats, and drinks will be available to moviegoers. The members of the First Wesleyan Church remind people to bring lawn chairs to the movie if you wish to sit outside. Should weather be a factor at show time, the film will be moved inside the church. If you wish to see a specific Christian film or would like more information about this event please contact Pastor Terri Niver or Jeff Nuhfer at 814-368-7865.
