Sally the robot, made by Realbotix, will look human with silicone skin and students will also receive an artificial intelligence teacher’s assistant program, which allows students to interact with an avatar of the robot on laptops.

Sally will be used next school year in the fall.

The robot will not replace the classroom teacher, but provide learning support to both students and educators acting more as a teacher’s aid.

Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested 52-year-old Charles E. Green III on an active felony arrest warrant out of the Lakewood Busti Police Department.

Green was transported to the Town of Falconer where he was turned over to the custody of the Lakewood Busti PD without incident.

In a post the department made on Facebook, they specifically say there has been an increase in teenagers committing criminal mischief, assaults, stealing and recklessly riding motorized bikes on the streets.

Teenagers cannot be out without a parent or guardian between 10PM and 6AM.

Parents, Guardians and those who have custody of these minors will also be held accountable by charging them with endangering the welfare of a child, being petitioned to the appropriate Court.

New York State Police 43-year-old Joshua Mosher with two felony counts of grand larceny for credit card theft and petit larceny.

An investigation by troopers also determined Mosher was a suspect in a theft reported in Allegany on May 18.

Mosher was then charged with two separate counts of identity theft, petit larceny and conspiracy.

Mosher was issued appearance tickets in both cases and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association says legislative inaction is dangerous because:

• As Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, said “Failing to act would leave our communities and victims without needed protections.” Defendants convicted of second-degree murder present a threat to public safety and the legislature is responsible for creating a lasting framework for the criminal justice system to follow;

• Doing nothing will result in an inequitable sentencing scheme. For example, if the deadline expires without a new law, juvenile offenders will face harsher mandatory penalties than adult offenders;

• If the cost to resentence more than 1,000 cases is placed on the county district attorney’s offices and public defender offices, it will be an overwhelming cost burden for county taxpayers; and,

• Public Defender Association of Pennsylvania Executive Director Sara Jacobson agrees that uniformity is important. She says without a legislative fix, the disparity of resources county to county will lead to a “justice by geography” situation. (Spotlight PA, July 14, 2026)

As a prosecutor and former defense attorney, Berks County District Attorney John Adams said, “I have been on both sides of this issue, so I know it by heart, and I know it through experience.” He says prosecutors want to see legislation that offers appropriate sentencing alternatives for cases that don’t warrant life in prison but keep the possibility open for those that do.

Pennsylvania State Police charged 43-year-old Christopher David Yaworsky with Endangering the Welfare of Children, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Obstructing governmental Administration and Furnishing False Information to Authorities.

The charges stem from Yaworsky claiming he found a black mesh bag of cocaine outside a facility on Abraxas Road, in Howe Township, however surveillance video determined the drugs were his.

Yaworsky allegedly told police that the night before making the report, he emptied two baggies of cocaine and replaced the drugs with baking soda.

Yaworsky is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 11.

New York State Police charged 28-year-old Hunter H. Kane with felony possession of a sexual performance of a child.

Kane was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Pennsylvania State Police charged 31-year-old David Cabisca was charged with fleeing and eluding police.

The charges stem from Cabisca allegedly refusing to pull over for state troopers on W State St which let to a pursuit all the way to N Marvin St.

Cabisca was remanded to McKean County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Portville’s Maxx Yehl was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the M-L-B Draft Saturday in Philadelphia — the ninety-first overall pick — becoming the highest drafted West Virginia University pitcher in program history.

Yehl is a six-foot-six, two-hundred-thirty-five-pound left-hander who had to miss the entire twenty-twenty-five season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He came back with a vengeance — going nine and three with a two-thirteen E-R-A across ninety-seven innings, striking out one-hundred-twelve batters for the Mountaineers this spring — helping lead West Virginia to its first-ever College World Series appearance. He was named the Big Twelve Pitcher of the Year, a unanimous first-team All-American, and a finalist for National Pitcher of the Year. His fastball touches ninety-six miles per hour, and Royals scouts are already talking about him as a potential starter.

At Portville Central, Yehl won a Section Six title and was twice named the Big Thirty Player of the Year. He also pitched for the Olean Oilers — and on Wednesday threw out the ceremonial first pitch at an Oilers game right here at home.
