Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Emma E. Dodge on a warrant issued out of City of Jamestown Police Department.

Dodge was processed and turned over to Jamestown PD for further proceedings.

New York State Police charged 37-year-old Nathan A. Bowker with petit larceny and obstructing governmental administration.

Bowker was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

It was sloppy from the start. The Yankees made four errors, three of them in the first inning, a number that ties a postseason record for a first inning. Starter Cam Schlittler did not get out of the fifth.

At the plate, Ben Rice was the only Yankee who delivered. Rice went two for three with a walk and hit two solo home runs, accounting for both New York runs. That comes after the Yankees managed just one hit in Game One.

New York now has to win three straight to survive. Game Three is Wednesday night at eight Eastern at Yankee Stadium.

The Penguins led one to nothing after two periods on a Ben Kindel goal. Then Alex Iafallo, Adam Lowry and Cole Perfetti scored for Winnipeg in a span of four minutes and nineteen seconds. Declan Carlile tied it two-two in between, but Perfetti answered just nine seconds later. Clay Stevenson made twenty-nine saves in his Jets debut. Sergei Murashov stopped thirty for Pittsburgh. The loss is the Penguins’ first of the season. They’re two and one after scoring thirteen goals in their first two games.

Pittsburgh hits the road Wednesday night at Washington. Puck drop is seven-thirty Eastern, the Capitals’ home opener at Capital One Arena.

Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged 41-year-old Matthew Sperling with Stalking and Harassment.

Sperling allegedly placed a GPS tracking device onto the victim’s vehicle.

Sperling was released on own recognizance and is due to appear in Allegany Town Court at a later date.

Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Khristerpher M. Ellis on an active Exclusion Order from the Seneca Nation of Indians.

The Seneca Nation Marshals were notified and issued Ellis an appearance ticket for Peacemakers Court.

Ellis was then processed and released on an appearance ticket for the charge of Trespass.

Ellis is due in the City of Salamanca Court at a later date for further proceedings.

29-year-old Brian Kuchinka was sentenced to life in prison for the death of K-leigh Hill-Nelson.

At the sentencing hearing, family members of the victim and the District Attorney read statements about K-leigh and how her murder has impacted their lives as well as the life of K-leigh’s young son.

Kuchinka made no statements.

City of Bradford Police charged 38-year-old Christopher James Colts with felony arson for danger of death, felony reckless endangerment through arson, felony aggravated arson, two separate felony counts of reckless burning, felony risking catastrophe, misdemeanor reckless endangerment, access device fraud, identity theft and theft.

The charges stem from a shed fire at Moonan’s Car Wash that spread beyond the original structure and damaged additional residential property early Sunday morning.

During the same time period, investigators identified an additional suspicious fire at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Sports Complex, including damage in the area of the softball field and loss of a tractor.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed Colts near Moonan’s Car Wash shortly before the fire and subsequently in other areas connected to the investigation.

The investigation further revealed that several vehicles in the area had allegedly been entered and credit and debit cards were stolen and were used or attempted to be used at several businesses and financial institutions.

Colts is currently being held in the McKean County Jail on $1 million bail.

The investigation remains active and ongoing and Bradford Police are currently reviewing other fires and suspicious incidents occurring during the same general time period to determine whether they may be connected to Colts. They’re are asking residents and businesses to review security video from the overnight hours of October 3 into October 4. The Rising Star Award recognizes young people who demonstrate exceptional initiative, leadership, service, and a commitment to making their community a better place. This year, the strength of the nominations led the committee to recognize two deserving recipients.

The Champions Awards were created to shine a spotlight on the people and organizations who strengthen the Bradford area through service, compassion, leadership, and action. The awards reflect the Kiwanis mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time.

“These awards are about recognizing the people who make our community stronger, often without ever asking for recognition in return,” said Mark Young, President of the Kiwanis Club of Bradford. “The nominations we received showed just how many people in our area are quietly doing extraordinary things. Our recipients represent different kinds of service, but they share something important: each of them demonstrates the impact people can have when they choose to serve others.”

The recipients will be honored during the 2026 Kiwanis Champions Awards on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

The public is invited to join the Kiwanis Club of Bradford in celebrating this year’s honorees and the spirit of service they represent. The evening will bring together community members, families, local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to recognize those helping make the Bradford area a stronger and more compassionate place.
