Dunkirk Police and Fire were called to a Hydrofluoric Acid fire at 9am Sunday morning at Dunkirk Specialty Steel. Fire officials report that when they arrived on scene, they found an attached structure housing a ventilation system was on fire with heavy smoke coming from the structure. The Chautauqua County Hazmat team and West Town of Dunkirk aided city firefighters. Crews were on the scene for four hours. There were no injuries. A portion of Bingham Road was closed to traffic while crews were battling the fire.
