Several pets died in a fire Monday morning in Kane, but no people were hurt.
Kane Fire Chief Tim Holts says fire damage was contained to the basement and first floor, but the rest of the house does have heat and smoke damage.
The fire is believed to have started in a first floor bedroom, but a cause hasn’t been determined yet. Damage is estimated at $50,000.
Lisa Hutchins and her three children were home at the time of the fire, and were able to get out safely.
Firefighters were able to save two family dogs.
