Jefferson Co. Rest Areas on I-80 to Close for Renovations

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that both Jefferson County Rest Areas, located on I-80 East at mile marker 87.4 and West at mile marker 88.5, will close on November 30 for approximately two months while the facilities undergo renovations.

The $172,000 project includes interior restroom renovations and an upgraded water filtration system at both sites.  The project is scheduled to take approximately two months to complete and the facilities are expected to be opening February 2018.

While the renovations are underway, the facility will be closed to public access. Motorists may choose Exits 78 (SR 36) Brookville and 97 (US 219) off Interstate 80, as alternative locations for restrooms, food, gas and other amenities.
