Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly says he’s headed for New York City to visit with doctors after “something came up” in his recovery from surgery last month in his fight against oral cancer.
During a break from running his youth football camp in Rochester this morning, Kelly met with the media and told reporters he’s going back to New York in the second week of August because there are some things he wants to have looked at. He didn’t specify, and said he doesn’t know how long he will be in New York.
Kelly will be in Los Angeles Wednesday night to receive the Jimmy V award for Perseverance at the ESPY Awards.
Kelly says that he’s honored to receive the award, and that he hopes to inspire others to never give up.
