The Bills fell to the Detroit Lions Thursday night 17-10 in the final preseason game of the summer on 100.1 The Hero. Lions (3-1) after the Bills (2-2) had a head-scratching penalty. The Bills had some dumb penalties, including a fourth down stop only to have the play negated by defensive player lining up offside. Buffalo’s fourth-string quarterback Matt Simms, played the entire game and was 22 of 38 for 223 yards and lost three fumbles. Cornerback Ron Brooks had an 81 yard interception return for touchdown in the first quarter.
