A man has been charged for shooting and killing a Cattaraugus County man Wednesday night.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Brandon White of Collins, New York, in connection to the death of 46-year-old Anthony Chipman of Gowanda.
State Police say White was at the home on Bagdad Road in Collins when they arrived to find Chipman unresponsive. Chipman was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office ruled the official cause of death as a gunshot wound.
After speaking with witnesses, White was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
The sheriff’s office says a gun was found near the scene of the shooting but they haven’t determined yet if it was the gun used to shoot Chipman.
The incident is still under investigation.
