The McKean County Arts Council has elected its first officers.
The 11-member board of directors chose Greg Souchik as president; Kristin Asinger, vice president; Rachel Minard, treasurer; and Laura Piccioli, secretary.
The group started meeting in March in an effort to start the council, which aims to promote the arts throughout McKean County. The first slate of officers was elected Saturday.
The council is looking forward to its first public event — an opening reception for an art show being held at the Landmark Cafe. It’s scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. August 3. Anyone interested in any art form is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The arts council meets on the first and third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Landmark Cafe. Anyone interested in promoting the arts is welcome to attend the meetings as well.
