John M. Marasco has been named employee benefits consultant of Northwest Bank. Douglas Bert, senior vice president, Insurance Services, made the announcement.
In his role, Mr. Marasco will work closely with business development teams throughout the bank’s Northwest Region to provide health and wellness plans to businesses and individuals across northwestern Pennsylvania and Lake and Ashtabula counties in Ohio.
Mr. Marasco brings 23 years of employee benefits experience to Northwest. Previously, he served as senior vice president for Anderson and Kime Employee Benefits, Inc. Mr. Marasco also worked with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York from 1992-1999, where he held senior executive sales and account manager positions.
He received his degree in communication with a concentration in public relations from Clarion University and completed CEBS through the Blue Cross Association. Mr. Marasco is experienced with large and small group benefits consulting and is well versed in Affordable Care Act and health care reform legislation.
Mr. Marasco is a member of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and UPMC Health Plan advisory boards. Active in promoting health and wellness to adults and children, he developed a local company-wide wellness initiative and a run/walk to raise money for the Zach Vigliotta Scholarship Fund.
