NY Lawmakers: Let State Pay for Early Vote

New York lawmakers are asking the State to help fund the introduction of early voting.

A bill passed earlier this year established a 10-day early voting period, but county officials have complained about the expense of hiring and training extra staff to make early voting possible.

The Assembly has proposed $7 million in expenditures to counties to help cover the cost. The State Senate is suggesting a $10 miilion investment.
