The Buffalo Sabres have signed Ryan O’Reilly to a seven-year contract extension that will reportedly pay him $52.5 million. That’s an average of $7.5 million a season and the largest contract in franchise history.
Last season, O’Reilly scored 17 goals with 38 assists for Colorado, but he is also known as a strong defensive player. His 53.4 percent faceoff percentage ranked 20th in the NHL last season.
