The Pennsylvania State House passed an on-time budget with no tax increases Saturday. The house voted 112-77 in favor of a $30.18 billion state budget that will provide funding for core functions of government without having to increase the tax burden for PA citizens. The legislation includes more than $200 million in increases for early childhood education, basic and higher education, as well as funding for people with intellectual disabilities. The bill will now go to the State Senate for consideration and is expected to be on the governor’s desk within the next several days.
