Penguins Fall to Avalanche


The Colorado Avalanche dumped the Penguins Monday night 2-1.  The Av’s scored 6:17 into the third to grab the lead and added an empty netter in the final minute.  Penguins winger Phil Kessel scored his team-best 15th goal with 12 seconds to go to break the shutout.  Kessel has points in 25 of 32 games this season.  Tristan Jarry, making his eighth straight start in goal , had 26 saves in the finale of a season-long five-game homestand.  The Pens have dropped three of their last four games.
