The Pittsburgh Pirates blanked the Washington Nationals Wednesday afternoon 2-0. Trevor Williams and four relievers combined on a five-hitter to lead the Pirates to victory. Starlin Marte’s homer to deep center field with two outs in the third was the game winning blow. Since returning to the lineup, Marte has hit in all seven games, going 12 for 26 and at a .462 clip. Williams improved to 7-7 and won for just the second time in his last 10 starts, allowing four hits with three strikeouts.
