The Pittsburgh Pirates dumped the San Diego Padres Thursday night 5-4 on WESB. Gregory Polanco off the seventh inning with a double and scored the go-ahead run on an error. Josh Bell and Sean Rodriguez each had two hits. Rookie Edgar Santana retired the only batter he faced getting a groundout to end the seventh to earn the win. And Felipe Vazquez worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his ninth save in as many opportunities. The Pirates have won eight out of their last nine.
