Adam Frazier had a career-high four RBI, Josh Bell and John Jaso homered, and the Pittsburgh Pirates rolled to a 10-4 victory over the Washington Nationals on this afternoon.
Frazier hit a two-run double in the sixth inning and a two-run single in the seventh to help the Pirates pull away after Jaso’s solo home run in the fifth inning broke a 4-4 tie. Frazier, the leadoff hitter, is 10 for 20 in his last four games.
Andrew McCutchen and Chris Stewart each had two of the Pirates’ 13 hits.
Despite allowing four runs and giving up three hits in five innings, Tyler Glasnow got the win for the Pirates. Glasnow, who is 2-3 also struck out six batters.
The Pirates start a three-game series with the Phillies Friday at PNC Park. Rookie Trevor Williams and Jeremy Hellickson are the starting pitchers for that Friday’s matchup.
