A part of Route 417 in Allegany was closed for several hours Monday after a state vehicle pulled down power lines and a man was struck in the roadway by another vehicle. Deputies say a New York State DOT truck brought down the power lines near the Colonial Village mobile home park and then a small engine repair shop owner, who came to assist the state crew, was then struck by a vehicle exiting Colonial Village. The man was taken to Olean General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The incident also knocked out power to Colonial Village until late Monday night.
