Punxsutawney knocked the Owls out of the D9 baseball playoffs yesterday with an 11-3 victory in DuBois.
Bradford held a 2-1 lead early on, only to see a wild pitch, a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly put Punxsutawney up 4-2 in the third. The teams then traded runs in the fourth before Daren Byers broke the game open with a two-run single in the fifth.
Punxsutawney then put the game out of reach with four runs, thanks in part to a pair of Bradford errors, in the sixth inning. In all, the Owls committed five errors on the day.
Peyton Manion had a strong day at the plate for Bradford with two hits and two RBIs, while Michael Gow also had a pair of hits.
Tyler Gigliotti took the loss after only lasting 1 ⅔ innings.
