About 200, kids, parents and grandparents show up at Bradford High School’s Parkway Field last night for the 5th annual Reading Under the Lights event. The event was put on by the Bradford Area School District and the Family and Community Involvement Committee. Heather Bell, a 5th grade teacher at School Street Elementary School is in charge of the Family and Community Involvement Committee. She spoke with us about the popularity of the Reading Under the Lights event. Bell said that it is one of the most popular events that the school district and the Family and Community Involvement Committee puts on. Sarah Tingley is the principle at School Street Elementary School. She says that the reading event has had a positive effect on getting her students to read. All the kids that attended last night’s event received a free book.
