The Boston Red Sox downed the NY Yankees Sunday afternoon 5-1. Jackie Bradley Jr’s two-run triple lead the Red Sox offensively. The Red Sox won for the 14th time in 17 games, taking two out of three from New York for the second weekend in a row. Rick Porcello got the win for Boston allowing a run on just three hits along the way. Sonny Gray was the loser for Gray was the loser for New York allwing allowed two runs on seven hits in five innings. Bret Gardener homered for the Yankees, who had won five of their last six. The Red Sox lead the Yankees by five games in the AL East.
