The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announce that a slide remediation project will get underway on route 6 about a mile and a half from Smethport. Next week crews will set up traffic control measures and temporary traffic signals. Then on June 27th the work area on route 6 will be restricted to one lane with an alternating traffic pattern in effect. The temporary signals will remain in place until the middle of September when the road project is expected to be completed. The overall work will include the placement of a geosynthetic reinforced soil slope, paving, guide rail updates, and pavement markings. All work on the project is weather and schedule dependent.
