The Buffalo Sabres will host the Boston Bruins on October 4 in their season and home opener at the KeyBank Center. Faceoff is set for 7pm. The Sabres have not played a home opener against the Bruins since Oct. 10, 1974. Buffalo won that game, 9-5, in a contest most remembered for Danny Gare scoring his first NHL goal 18 seconds into the first period of his first game. The game will mark the fifth straight year the Sabres have opened its season at home.
