The two men responsible for the 2014 murder of a concert violinist in Chautauqua County in 2014 have been sentenced in federal court.
45-year-old Jonathan Conklin, who was convicted of carjacking, was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The sentence will be served consecutive to a 25-years-to-life sentence Conklin received in Chautauqua County Court for the murder of 66-year-old Mary Whitaker in her Westfield summer home.
32-year-old Charles Sanford to 15 years in prison for unlawful possession of a firearm and conspiracy to transport a stolen vehicle in interstate commerce. Today, Sanford was sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison for his role in Whitaker’s death.
