A St. Marys man convicted of gunning down his girlfriend outside her workplace has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
The Elk County judge said he would have handed down the same sentence to 46-year-old Michael Stephanic Jr even if it wasn’t mandated by the state because of the horrific nature of the crime.
Stepahnic shot June Talmadge outside of Eastern Sintered Alloys in St. Marys in the early morning hours of September 3, 2013.
His lawyers are planning an appeal.
