Three people were shot in separate hunting-related accidents over the weekend.
State police in Chautauqua County say at 8:20 Saturday morning a 17-year-old hunter shot at a doe with a .12-guage shotgun and hit another hunter in the left leg. 33-year-old Joseph McAndrews of Buffalo was taken to ECMC in Buffalo for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Ridgway state police say a 58-year-old bear hunter shot himself in the foot while he was getting ready to leave his home Saturday morning.
They say he was moving a gun inside his vehicle when it fired, hitting him in the foot. They didn’t release his name or condition.
Saturday afternoon in Clearfield County a 56-year-old man shot himself in his lower right leg.
The game commission says the man was moving through rugged terrain and tripped while going down a mountain, causing the pistol on his hip to discharge and hit him in the leg.
The game commission didn’t release the man’s name, but say he was flown to UPMC Altoona, where he is in stable condition.
