“Rock Bands” is the theme for this year’s 9th annual Trunk or Treat held at Grace Lutheran Church, 79 Mechanic St., on Halloween from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Sponsored jointly by Grace and Open Arms Community Church, the popular event allows children to gather goodies, play games and eat. Outdoors, people will decorate their vehicles and hand out candy. Trunks will be judged on how they show the theme; prizes will be awarded.
Meanwhile, indoors at the Community Life Center, trick-or-treaters will receive prizes and candy for playing games. Hot dogs will be available.
CLC director Selene Machuga said that attendance has ranged from 1,000 to 2,000 people each year. Bradford City Police officials have told organizers that there is a definite decrease in Halloween tricks because of the event
“We are happy to offer safe, family fun to the community,” said Machuga, noting that the indoor games and food are particularly attractive when the cooler weather brings rain or snow.
For more information, contact coordinator Machuga at (814) 362-1236 or Justin Willoughby at Open Arms. Also, donations of candy or cash may be dropped off at either church.
