Three wildfires kept fire departments in McKean County busy Friday evening. A fire on Gardeau Road kept department members in Smethport, Port Allegany, Austin and Emporium busy for a few hours after a fire started in a generator shed at a camp. Another fire was reported on 1909 Rock Run Road in Annin Township. Port Allegany, Coudersport, and Roulette were tied up with that incident after it being reported there was a structure fire. The last incident was on 169 Whitney Creek Road. Coudersport was called out for that late evening incident. 1490 WESB would like to remind its listeners that spring is one of the most dangerous times for wildfires. Residents of the listening area are reminded to avoid leaving fires unattended or refrain from fires during times of high winds and dry days.
