Winter Weather in the Twin Tiers

Snow squalls are possible this afternoon, and they could reduce visibility and produce a quick inch or two of snow.

The National Weather Service in State College says the worst conditions will be just before noon into the early afternoon.

The snow showers and squalls will weaken as they move to the south and east during the afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 o’clock Wednesday morning through 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon for Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo says 3 to 5 inches of lake effect snow is expected, with the greatest accumulations across the Chautauqua Ridge.

Wind gusts of up to 35 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow, and low visibility.
