The State Police based in Coudersport report a case of terroristic threats that happened earlier in the month. According to the state police, 66 year old John Cyran of Shinglehouse is accused of waving a gun and making terroristic threats against 44 year old Josh Howard also of Shinglehouse on three separate occasions. He is also accused of waving an aluminum bat and making terroristic threats against Howard on another occasion. The state police attempted to interview Cyran at his home but he was not there. While at the residence of the accused, they noticed a firearm clearly visible in Cyran’s vehicle. Upon investigation the accused was found to have a prior conviction making him unable to possess a firearm. A search and arrest warrant were issued. Other firearms were found in Cyran’s house. He was taken into custody without incident and taken to the potter county jail. Cyran was charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
