A Bemus Point man is in jail after a traffic stop early Friday morning in the town of Sherman New York. According to the Chatauqua County Sherriff’s Department 41 year old Gary Hannold was riding his motorcycle just before 1:30 Friday morning when he was stopped by police for a violation. After getting off his bike, Hannold threw a backpack he had with him into the weeds. Sheriff Deputies recovered the backpack and found it loaded with a large quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana. Hannold also had drug paraphernalia on him. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and criminal possession of marijuana.
