A Belmont, NY man has been sentenced in Allegany County Court to four years in state prison for reckless assault on a child. 25 year-old Shane Kranock dropped a 1-year-old child on his head while under the influence of heroin in January of this year. Kranock was arrested after staff at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville reported to police that they treated a child with a significant head injury and had transported him to Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester.
