A Bradford man has been sentenced to 27 to 54 months in state prison for several charges in two different cases.
26-year-old Gregory Benavidez pleaded guilty to failing to verify his address as a registered sex offender, and to a theft at the Chestnut Street Uni Mart.
He took a flash drive belonging to Bradford City Police from the store’s office. It had evidence of another crime on it. He also took money from a donation jar that was supposed to go to the family of a man who died.

A Buffalo man has been sentenced to hiding from police while on state parole and for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Police found 34-year-old Ivan Williams June 6 at the Comfort Inn in Bradford.
At the time of his arrest he had 3.5 grams of cocaine packaged for sale.

A Rixford man has been sentenced to up to two years in jail for an indecent assault of a girl.
23-year-old Anthony Schoonover had unlawful contact with a 13-year-old in October of 2017.
Schoonover must also register as a sex offender for 25 years.

A Bradford man has been sentenced to 21 to 42 months in state prison for possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell it.
33-year-old Jerome Hayes has was arrested after police were called to a fight on Mechanic Street on New Year’s Day.
While they were taking him into custody they found 5.2 grams of crack and nearly $1,300 in cash.

A Port Allegany man who choked and stalked his ex-girlfriend has been sentenced to one to two years in state prison.
29-year-old Christopher Ballway went to the woman’s home on December 22, grabbed her throat with both hands and tried to kiss her.
The stalking charge comes from several incidents between December 28 and April 22, including slashing a tire on her car and writing the word “liar” on it, leaving items on her porch and tampering with the porch light.

A man who injured a corrections officer at the McKean County Jail has been sentenced to four to 18 months in state prison.
33-year-old John Winn of Bainbridge, NY, was being restrained when he intentionally fell, causing the officer to fall with him. The officer’s shoulder was dislocated.
He was in jail for assaulting and injuring a Bradford City Police officer who was trying to take him into custody at BRMC.

A Bradford man will spend a year and a half on probation for using counterfeit money.
21-year-old James Cobb was using fake $20 bills for purchases at Country Fair and Dollar General to get real money in return.
He was ordered to pay restitution to both stores.

Two men have been sentenced to prison for simple assault in separate cases.
A jury found 26-year-old Jacob Tarr of Allegany guilty of assaulting a woman in August of last year. He’s been sentenced to eight months to two years behind bars.
51-year-old Donald Peterson Jr. of Cyclone will spend six months to two years in state prison after pleading guilty to picking up a man throwing him to the ground, and then kicking him while he was down and breaking his hip.
