Last night was round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft.
As expected, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick. With the second pick, the NY Jets took BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, and the 49ers chose North Dakota State QB Trey Lance.
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected 24th overall, they took running back Najee Harris from Alabama, the first RB to be named in this year’s draft. The Buffalo Bills selected Miami defensive end Gregory Rousseau with the 30th overall pick.Rousseau opted out of the 2020 NCAA football season, but in the 2019 season he had 54 total tackles in just 13 games, while also registering 19.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He ended up finishing second in all of college football in sacks, just behind the NFL’s reigning DPOY Chase Young, who ended up going as the second overall pick in last year’s draft. Rousseau was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year for his stellar 2019 season, and was also named First-Team All-ACC.
The 2021 NFL Draft will continue tonight with rounds 2 and 3.
