The Cincinnati Red dog-walked the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-1 at PNC Park last night on WESB Sports.
Jacob Stallings hit a solo homer for the Pirates in the second inning, knotting up the game at 1. Then Cincinnati’s Tucker Barnhart keyed a six-run fourth inning for the Reds with a two-run double off Pittsburgh starter Mitch Keller. The Reds kept pouring it on while the Bucs were unable to get another run, though Adam Frazier did extend his hitting streak to 11 games with two hits on the day.
Mitch Keller was tagged for seven runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings. He had two walks and two strikeouts after pitching 5 2/3 scoreless innings to win at San Diego in his previous outing. Keller’s ERA is 7.81 after seven starts.
The Pirates are now 14-20 on the season and have dropped 9 of 11 since moving a game above .500. RHP JT Brubaker will start game 2 against the Reds tonight at 6:10 on WESB Sports.
