The Pittsburgh Pirates rallied over the Chicago White Sox 6-3 at PNC Park last night on WESB Sports.
Pittsburgh starter Tyler Anderson got off to a hot start, holding the White Sox scoreless on 2 hits through 6 innings, while Adam Frazier helped the Pirates take a 2-0 lead. Frazier hit a solo home run in the third and walked and scored on Bryan Reynolds’ RBI single in the sixth. Anderson took the mound in the top of the seventh and gave up a 3-run homer that put Chicago up 3-2.
Greogry Polanco and Phillip Evans hit back-to-back singles to start the Pittsburgh seventh. Kevin Newman then beat out a bunt for a single and Polanco scored the tying run on a Chicago error. Pinch-hitter Erik Gonzalez hit two-run single to score Evans and Newman, and Reynolds second RBI single brought in Gonzalez, capping a 4-run seventh inning that put the Bucs up 6-3.
The Pirates have won 3 of 4 since a 10-game losing streak and are now 26-45 on the season. They will start Chase DeJong in the finale of the 2-game series, today at 12:35.
