EDIT: 1/12/22 5 PM with additional information and clarification
Three University of Pittsburgh at Bradford students have been disenrolled for not complying with the University’s vaccine policy.
The University of Pittsburgh announced last month that all students, faculty, and other staff would have to be vaccinated by the new year or get an approved exemption. Students who didn’t comply were told they would not be allowed to enroll in spring classes, which started on Monday.
The University says 96% of its students are in fact vaccinated, and any disenrolled students will be allowed to return after being vaccinated or obtaining an exemption. University Spokesperson Pat Frantz Cercone told WESB News that the University has reached out to the three students “so we can help them become compliant and re-enroll if they choose to do so. ”
Note: an earlier draft of this story could have been construed as implying that the University did not allow valid exemptions for the vaccination requirement. That is not the case, nor was it our intent to suggest so.
