A judge has ordered the FBI to turn over its records from the search for the legendary Dent’s Run gold.
Legend says that nearly a ton and a half of gold was loaded onto a wagon train in Wheeling West Virginia in 1863 and was headed to the Mint in Philadelphia when it was lost after passing through Ridgway. Mint records from 1863 show no missing gold deliveries.
Dennis and Kem Parada, founders of “Finders Keepers” claimed to have found what they believed was evidence of the gold in 2018, but the FBI insisted nothing was found at the site.
On Monday U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta ordered the FBI to turn over thousands of pages of documents it has on the case to the Paradas, starting with a report from a geophysical consulting firm contracted by the FBI which supposedly showed evidence of a 9-ton metallic mass at the site.
And I’ll bet at the moment a number of governmental agencies have smoke just rolling out of their paper shredders.
