A Lewis Run man has been accused of cashing forged checks.
According to court filings, 29 year old Justin Hillard entered the drive-through at Northwest Bank on East Main Street, trying to cash a check that appeared to be from Metalico. Foster Township Police detained Hillard
The bank presented police with four fraudulent checks that had been cashed totaling over $3,400. The most recent check Hillard was attempting to cash was for $897.14. Police claim that in an interview with them, Hillard admitted to knowing the checks were fake and that he was cashing them for another man who would give him a cut.
Hillard is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
