The Port Allegany Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team were called out Monday night to help with a partially collapsed home in Allegany.
Firefighters arrived just before 7 PM to find that heavy rainfall had caused an entire sidewall of the foundation to have caved in. Teams used pneumatic struts to provide a safe working space and to safely evacuate the building. Crews excavated debris and shored up the building long enough to allow residents to retrieve family pets and belongings.
Crews were on scene for about three hours.
