After nine days on the run, murder suspect Michael Burham was taken back in police custody at 5:50PM Saturday.
Michael Burham, described by police as a self-taught survivalist with military experience, escaped from the Warren County Jail in Warren, Pennsylvania on July 6.
Late Saturday afternoon, police got a big break – a tip from some residents who saw someone suspicious behind their home in West Warren. State police say search teams set up a perimeter and took Burham into custody without incident.
He was taken into custody at gunpoint and will be arraigned on an escape charge.
U.S. Marshalls, Border Patrol and the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team were involved in the final search.
Lt. Col. George Bivens said Burham is currently at the State Police barracks where he will ultimately be held following his arraignment.
