A Jamestown man wanted in two states was arrested Monday, along with a woman police say impeded their investigation.
Officers from the Jamestown K9 unit say they spotted 27-year-old Steven Schrecengost, who they knew to have warrants for his arrest out of Jamestown court, cutting through backyards and entering into a house occupied by 47-year-old Lisa Tibbetts.
Officers say Tibbets told the officers Schrecengost was not in the house, and once officers had been given permission to search physically blocked their entrance. Schrecengost was later located in a bedroom in the residence.
An investigation turned up a warrant for Schrecengost’s arrest in Georgia.
Schrecengost is being held pending legal action. Tibbetts was released with an appearance ticket.
